On 26.09.2025, мunicipality welcomed Pomorie distinguished guests – colleagues from мunicipality Karlovo. The delegation, including municipal councilors and members of the administration, was led by the chairman of the Municipal Council Donyo Todorov. The visit aim was at exchanging experiences, with the guests’ interest focused on the new door-to-door scheme of collecting household waste in the Svoboda district of Pomorie, as well as on the organization of parking in the seaside town.
The project “Holistic Approach to Waste Management in the Transition to a Circular Economy” was the subject of a serious discussion. Deputy
mayor Yancho Iliev spoke in detail about the new “door-to-door” waste collection with the purpose of introducing the “pay as you throw”
principle in setting waste fee, as well as about the challenges in its implementation. Experts from the municipality answered questions from
the guests. The chairman of the Municipal Council of municipality Karlovo, Donyo Todorov, shared: “The issue of the municipal waste fee is
on the agenda and it is a matter of time for changes to occur in the municipalities. You are already working in this direction and we have
something to learn from you.” And he expressed hope for future cooperation.
