On the occasion of the holiday of the city of Pomorie – St. George’s Day, the municipality welcomed an official delegation from the twinned Turkish city Inedje, led by the mayor Ilhan Ar. The guests took part in the festive program and got acquainted with some of the initiatives that municipality Pomorie implements in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
During the visit, the mayor of Pomorie showed a mobile eco-station for waste collection and talked about the activities under the project “Holistic approach to waste management in the transition to a circular economy”, implemented by the municipality with co-financing from Programme LIFE of the EC. The guests showed interest in the innovative solutions for waste collection and management, as well as in the efforts of the municipality to promote sustainable environmental practices and the active participation of the local community.
The visit was performed in a spirit of friendship and good cooperation, emphasizing the importance of the partnership between the twin cities and the exchange of good practices in the fields of environment, local self-government, sustainable development. The visit of the delegation from Inedje contributed to strengthening the cooperation between the two municipalities.
